Congratulations to Andrew Preston who has been appointed to the John Harvard Professorship in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, a five-year Cambridge post that will run alongside Andrew's existing professorial post. The appointment is meant to free up research time for a distinguished faculty member, to encourage closer ties between Cambridge and Harvard, and to look for new ways to disseminate academic research to a broad public.

Andrew has also been elected vice-president of the Society for the History of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR), the leading organization in the field. This means that Andrew will automatically become president of SHAFR in 2021, the year after his 2020 vice-presidential term ends. We congratulate Andrew on this major honour.
