Martin Daunton Appointed Visiting Professor of Economic History at Gresham College

Martin Daunton

Congratulations to Martin Daunton, Emeritus Professor of Economic History, who has been appointed Visiting Professor of Economic History at Gresham College, London’s oldest Higher Education Institution. At Gresham, Daunton will deliver free public lectures addressing issues of intergenerational justice. They will be live-streamed and free to view on the College's website.

The full announcement can be read here:

Edmund Burke remarked that society is 'a contract between the dead, the living and those yet to be born’. My lectures consider the ways different societies at different periods negotiate the contract - whether it be the way that wealth is passed between generations that can reinforce or mitigate social inequality, or the actions of current generations on climate change that will affect the life of generations not yet born.
