Andrew Preston Delivers SHAFR Presidential Address

Congratulations to Professor Andrew Preston, who delivered the Presidential Address for the Society for the History of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR) on June 19, 2021.

Founded in 1967, SHAFR is dedicated to the scholarly study of the history of American foreign relations broadly defined. It also publishes the journal Diplomatic History. Its lively annual meeting took place in a digital format this year.

Preston, a specialist in US foreign relations who has written extensively about the Vietnam War, served as the organisation’s 54^th president. His address, titled ‘From Dong Dang to Da Nang: The Past, Present, and Future of America's Thirty-Years War for Asia,’ can be watched here.
