Current interest: the lives and works of John Claudius Loudon, Jane Webb Loudon, Jane Loudon and Mary Loudon 1800-1843, Agnes Loudon during her widowhood 1809-1841 and Jane Webb Loudon during hers 1843-1858. By writing, illustrating and publishing, and direct engagement, they influenced horticulture, agriculture, architecture, periodical and book publishing. Jane Webb Loudon had written science fiction (regarded at the time as Gothic fiction) before her marriage.
