My PhD focusses on the importance of the concept of ignorance in medieval ethics and law, with a particular focus on the reception of Aristotle from the thirteenth century onwards. I was also at Cambridge for my Master's, completing the MPhil in Political Thought and Intellectual History. My MPhil thesis offered a reinterpretation of William of Ockham's so-called 'political' later works, continuing the work I started with my undergraduate dissertation at Durham University.
I am also co-convenor of the Medieval History Graduate Workshop.
Medieval philosophy, theology, and the links between the two; ethics; the dynamics within and between medieval religious and educational institutions; political thought.
