Mercedes Galindez

I am a part-time PhD Researcher funded by the Energy Policy Research Group and supervised by Professor Paul Warde. My research focuses on wind power development and financing in Europe, 1990 – 2019.

Previously I worked on Latin American history, having completed a 'Licenciatura' in History and Literature at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (2010) and an MPhil in Latin American Studies at the University of Cambridge funded by the Gates Cambridge Trust (2012).

My PhD research project aims to study the role of capital in the development of wind power in Europe from the moment key markets announced renewable energy frameworks in 1990 to the consolidation of the industry in 2019.
