Professor Rublack to deliver Natalie Zemon Davis Memorial Lecture series at CEU

The Departments of History and Medieval Studies at CEU are delighted to announce the program for the Natalie Zemon Davis Memorial Lectures 2024. The lectures will be given by Professor Ulinka Rublack from the University of Cambridge, on the subject of Dürer’s Dress: Subject and Object in the Renaissance. The first lecture will be held on Wednesday, March 13, at 6pm in the Hall of Audience in the Albertina Museum, Vienna. In this lecture, Prof. Rublack will talk, in the presence of many of the artist's drawings and prints, on Dürer, Outerwear and the Politics of Recognition. The lecture will be followed by a wine reception on the Albertina's terrace.

The second lecture will be held on Thursday, March 14, at 5:40pm in CEU's Vienna Auditorium. In this lecture, Prof. Rublack will discuss Renaissance Dress and Social Change. 

Finally, CEU's Auditorium will host on Monday, March 18 at 5:40pm a Roundtable in Memory of Natalie Zemon Davis, with Gábor Klaniczay, Melanie Newton, Lyndal Roper, Ulinka Rublack, and István Rév.
