Professor James Raven Lectures on Book History in Mexico

Professor James Raven was invited to give a lecture by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) to mark the publication of his recent books What is the History of the Book? and The Oxford Illustrated History of the Book,  and to discuss the latest global developments in book history. The lecture addressed different ways in which scholars are approaching the global study of the production, dissemination and reception of written and printed texts across all societies and in all ages and offered a deliberately provocative definition of what might be defined as a 'book'.
