New Fields of Study

For many years the study of history was dominated by political and military history. Other fields of history developed in the twentieth century, such as economic and social history, and there are now flourishing schools of intellectual, medical, postcolonial and gender history, and many others. Here are three examples of the sorts of new areas of study which historians are now exploring.
