Emily Elizabeth Robson

PhD Candidate in Early Modern British History
I am a PhD candidate at Churchill College, Cambridge. I received my BA and Masters qualifications from the University of Birmingham, were I was awarded the Edna Pearson Scholarship to undertake postgraduate research into political prophecy in sixteenth and seventeenth century England. My doctoral thesis builds upon this research and asks how prophecy was conceptualised, practiced, and contested among English Protestants, focussing especially upon attitudes towards masculinity in a spiritual/prophetic context.
Religion; the supernatural; gender; language and rhetoric; the early modern print marketplace.
