Student Prizes 2021-22

News

Congratulations to the following prize and award winners:

Michael O’Brien Research Grant in the PhD student category was awarded to Ms Marie Puysségu to allow her to visit archives in the United States, for her project - a community study of southern migrants in Detroit, on both sides of the colour line, between 1940 and 1970. 

 

The 2022 Prince Consort and Thirlwall Prize was jointly awarded to

Mr Daniel Allemann for his dissertation: “Slavery and Empire in Iberian Scholastic Thought, c.1539-1682”
and 
Mr Samuel Sokolsky-Tifft for his dissertation: “The Problem of Guilt: Heidegger, Merleau-Ponty, Fanon, and Glissant”

 

The 2022 Members’ History Prize, awarded for the best MPhil dissertation submitted in academic year 2020/21, was jointly awarded to 


Mr Jonathan Rößler (Political Thought and Intellectual History)
Miss Charlotte Alt (Modern European History)
Mr Matti Thal (Ancient and Medieval History)
Miss Tiéphaine Thomason (Early Modern History)
