Confidentiality and Feedback to Students

Dissertation and essay marks will not be communicated to candidates until approved by the Degree Committee. The names of examiners remain confidential and are not be released to candidates; however, the anonymised examiners’ reports will be provided to candidates once these reports have been confirmed by the MPhil Sub-Committee sitting as Board of Examiners and agreed by the History Degree Committee.  Dissertations, like essays, should be submitted in anonymised form.  Even where examiners are or become aware of a candidate’s identity, they are asked not to discuss their reports with candidates even after the examination process has been completed, as it would be unfair for some students but not others to learn the identity of their examiners.
