Research Interests

I investigate the movement of Greek and eastern Christian books and people in Europe during the early modern period (1400-1700). I am interested in how and why texts were produced, transmitted and interpreted at this time, and how such histories could help us to understand the state of knowledge in the modern world.

I lecture and supervise on Part I Paper 16 (European History 1450-1760), as well as Part II Paper 17 (The politics of knowledge from the late Renaissance to the early Enlightenment).
