Julia Kelsoe PhD Candidate, Early Modern History


I am a third-year PhD student researching the practice of arbitration in early modern England. My PhD thesis, 'Arbitration in English Law and Society before the Act of 1698', considers the use of this method of extra-judicial dispute resolution in the century or so before the enactment of the 1698 Arbitration Act, the first statute on arbitration in English history.
