Jake Ladlow

I am in the second year of my PhD in which pauper letters are used to account for the emotional experiences of the labouring poor whose minds became ‘unsettled’ in England and Wales under the Old Poor Law.

I have a wide range of interests across histories of madness, emotions, crime and poverty in Britain.

Before coming to Cambridge I studied at the University of Leicester.

My supervisor is Dr Elizabeth Foyster.
