Dr. Hillary Taylor

Research Fellow, Jesus College

Biography:

I received my PhD from Yale in 2016.

Research Interests

I am broadly interested in the social, economic and political history of England, 1500-1750; social relations, especially deference and paternalism; the social history of ideas; popular politics and protest.

I am currently working on a book about social relations and the class politics of language in early modern England. I am also doing research for two other projects. The first is about market toll litigation in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century England; the second is about the Communist Party of Great Britian Historians Group.
