Childcare

The cost of childcare in Cambridge is, sadly, high. Full-time nursery care for pre-school children can cost upwards of £10,000 per child per year, and after-school clubs for children of school age cost up to £2,000 per child per year.

Don't worry though, we do try to help! Cambridge University offers a range of College, co-operative and private facilities to support students with their childcare arrangements and associated costs which are detailed on the University's Childcare Office website.

If you plan to bring dependants or children to Cambridge, remember to factor this into the costs involved. If you are made an offer of admission to the University, the financial condition specified in your offer letter will take account of your statement about accompanying dependants in the Graduate Application Form. These costs are set in accordance with the figures outlined on the Graduate Admissions Office maintenance calculator.

Scholarships do not usually provide maintenance for dependants. We ask that you provide evidence of the extra financial support required and also the consent of your college before you bring dependants or children with you to Cambridge. If you bring children or dependants, we're sure that they'll enjoy being here in Cambridge just as much as you!
