Dr. Gabriela Ramos wins Howard F. Cline Prize
Gabriela Ramos' book, 'Death and Conversion in the Andes, Lima and Cuzco, 1532-1670' (University of Notre Dame Press, 2010) has won the Howard F. Cline Prize awarded by the Conference on Latin American History (CLAH).
The Cline Prize is awarded biennially to the book or article in English, German, or a Romance language judged to make the most significant contribution to the history of Indians in Latin America, referring to any time before the immediate present. The Conference on Latin American History (CLAH)is a professional association devoted to encourage the diffusion of knowledge about Latin America through fostering the study and improving the teaching of Latin American history. CLAH is a society affiliated with the American Historical Association.
