My research examines the social and cultural history of central and southern Africa, with particular interest in migration, transnationalism, and urbanisation in Malawi, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
I am pleased to supervise MPhil students interested in aspects of central and southern African history.
I lecture and supervise students on Part II Paper 29 'Africa since 1800', and Part I Paper 21 'Empires and World History from the fifteenth century to the First World War' and Paper 23 'World History since 1914'.
