Biography:

Joel completed a BS double major in mathematics and history at Oklahoma State University. He came to Cambridge as a Gates Scholar, where he took an MPhil in Early Modern History and then a PhD on the congregational movement in Britain and Ireland, 1640-1660. He has worked as assistant editor on The minutes and papers of the Westminster assembly, 1643-1653. From 2010-2011 he taught sub-honours and honours courses at the University of St Andrews. He has now returned to Cambridge as a research associate on a forthcoming edition of The writings and speeches of Oliver Cromwell.
