Academic Staff and Research
The History Faculty at Cambridge is one of the largest and most dynamic
concentrations of historical scholarship in Britain, and indeed the world.
Over one hundred people pursue teaching and research within the History Faculty
and Colleges of the University, either as University Teaching Officers
(UTOs), College Teaching Officers (CTOs), Junior Research Fellows (JRFs),
or Post-Doctoral Fellows.
The thriving research culture is reflected in the numerous
seminars, conferences,
and lecture series that take place under the auspices of the
Faculty.
RAE 2008:
40% of Cambridge Historians ‘World-Leading’
The Faculty's research was rated 5* in the
2001 Research
Assessment Exercise.
